Job Opening: Entrepreneurship Lab Coordinator
The Marcella Foundation is seeking a creative catalyst to shape the future of youth entrepreneurship in South Lake Tahoe. You will lead this brand new initiative from the ground up, managing programming, cultivating partnerships, and mentoring students. About The Role
In partnership with South Tahoe High School, the Marcella Foundation is launching an exciting new program to help students ignite, build, and launch their creative ideas. This program will be located in the Marcella Foundation Headquarters, a dedicated 9,000+ square foot Entrepreneurship Lab located in the heart of South Lake Tahoe.
The Entrepreneurship Lab will be a dynamic, hands-on learning space where high school students can explore entrepreneurship, innovation, and creative problem-solving. It will serve as a hub where students can gain skills in digital fabrication, design, art, screen printing, 3D printing, indoor farming, culinary arts, sustainability, and more.
Through workshops taught by industry experts, students will immerse themselves in real-world projects, mentorship, and access to local and regional professionals, students will gain the confidence and skills to become the architects of their own futures.
Key Responsibilities
1. Program Leadership & Coordination
Curate high-impact learning sequences that align with our Ignite, Build, Launch framework
Help shape the long-term vision of the Entrepreneurship Lab by identifying emerging opportunities, proposing new initiatives, and staying informed on trends in design, tech, and youth leadership
Manage daily operations, from scheduling workshops, to coordinating space usage, to organizing volunteers.
Design and facilitate core programming sessions while ensuring smooth transitions between community-led workshops
Serve as the primary point of contact between students, school staff, community instructors, volunteers, and the Marcella Foundation
Maintain program alignment with both grant requirements and student needs
Organize student showcases and community events related to the Lab
2. Community Engagement & Workshop Coordination
Recruit and onboard local makers, artists, entrepreneurs, and professionals to lead specialized workshops
Manage the workshop proposal and scheduling process, including instructor stipends and workshop budgets
Coordinate logistics for in-school sessions, after-school sessions, early-release programming, summer sessions, and special one-off events
Build relationships that create a sustainable pipeline of community instructors
Coordinate a Marcella Club at STHS, elevating student voice and leadership in our work
Learn from other makerspaces regionally and nationally to bring best practices to our space
3. Space & Resource Management
Oversee the 970 Lodi space to ensure it's organized, safe, and inspiring
Manage equipment inventory and materials to keep the Lab well-stocked for diverse maker activities
Enforce safety protocols and ensure inclusive, welcoming use of space
4. Impact Measurement & Program Innovation
Partner with the Foundation to track student engagement and outcomes, building the data and case studies that demonstrate program impact
Run pilot workshops as test cases, gathering feedback to refine and scale successful models
Document success stories and share outcomes with stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
Required
Proven track in education, youth development, nonprofit leadership, or business leadership
Hands-on experience with at least 2-3 maker/creative skillsets
Could include: art, digital fabrication, woodworking, media, photography, screen printing, crafts, sewing, painting, coding, robotics, cooking, or music
Demonstrated ability to manage complex systems
Experience building or launching new programs—you've taken something from idea to implementation
Data-minded approach—you naturally think about measuring impact and using insights to improve programs
Valid driver's license, and clean driving record required—this role includes occasional driving for students, materials, equipment, and program activities
Must pass background check

Existing connections to Tahoe's maker/artist/entrepreneur community
Experience producing events or showcases
Experience in teaching or facilitating hands-on learning for youth or adults in your maker or creative skillsets
Role Details
Compensation: $80,000 - $95,000, with benefits
Location: South Lake Tahoe, CA (in-person)
Reports To: Melissa Uppendahl, Executive Director
Start Date: August / September 2025
Status: Full-time Exempt, occasional evening/weekend work for student showcases or community events
Paid Time Off: 30 days Paid Time Off (PTO) annually for sick and personal time away
Holidays: 11 paid holidays annually

Travel: Paid travel to makerspaces nationwide to make connections for our space
Retirement: The Foundation contributes a dollar amount equal to 6% percent of your annual salary towards your retirement. This plan has immediate participation and 100% vesting.
