Attention parents of Sierra House 2nd graders!! You are invited to join us for our BookMode Kindle Giveaway February 13, 2025, where we celebrate the power of reading and are giving your child a kindle e-reader as a gift from us. This initiative is part of our larger mission to foster literacy and learning for every child in South Lake Tahoe.

About the Program
BookMode is dedicated to equipping children with the tools and resources they need to build a lifelong love for reading. By providing Kindles preloaded with a curated library of books, we ensure children have access to age-appropriate, engaging reading materials anytime, anywhere.
All second-grade students at Sierra House Elementary School are eligible for receiving a Kindle device and a Bluetooth headset for free. Each Kindle comes with 1 year of Amazon Kids+ with access to thousands of books.
On February 13th, our Reading Superheroes will host a kick-off event on the Power to Read. We help kids get familiar with the Kindle device and choose a Reading Adventure. We will get all the kids super excited about reading.
The Reading Adventure will go far beyond our event. We also need parents’ support to create a reading environment for their children at home. To receive a Kindle, a parent must agree to receive text messages and communication from the program and to provide time and space for their kids to read and listen on their Kindles.

Set aside a time and place each day for your child to read!
After dinner or right before bed can be great times. Grab a book for yourself and read with your child. Turn off screens, quite your space, cuddle on the couch with a blanket, and READ.

Click the three dots in the right hand corner of the screen
Select "Awards"
See child’s activity under Books, Activity, Achievement
