ReadingPals is a local, community-based reading program of the Marcella Foundation providing elementary aged children an opportunity for success through one-on-one reading sessions with a committed volunteer. We piloted the ReadingPals community framework last year with much success and are excited to offer an expanded program this year! It has a proven track record of success at at Chico Unified School District for the past decade.

ReadingPals was designed with the “bubble kids” in mind - students who could really use some extra support to help them read at grade level, but who are not receiving intervention services. We know that these students often slip through the cracks and will experience tremendous benefit from individualized attention from a caring adult.

Simply fill out this form below. We will confirm the final list with Mr. Harnett, and will begin pulling these students regularly during library time to read with them in the STEM Room.
